Cornish Yarg is a semi-hard cheese with a complex flavour and irresistible creamy crumble. It is made exclusively with grass rich Cornish milk from Lyhner Dairy's own herd of Ayrshire cows. The hand-applied covering of locally-foraged Cornish nettles imparts a delicate mushroomy, yet fresh taste and gives the cheese a beautiful, bloomy white appearance.

Yarg was first produced in 1980 after Cornish farmer Alan Gray found a 17th Century recipe for nettle wrapped cheese and decided to recreate it. Today the cheese is produced by Catherine Mead at Lynher Dairies in the small village of Ponsanooth in Cornwall.
